AI for Good Fellowship Overview

The AI for Good Fellowship is part of the Digitalise Youth Project under the Digital Democracy Initiative. Activities include co-designing AI tools, ensuring ethical compliance in AI deployments, and generating insights to inform policy and advocacy. Potential projects may involve natural language processing models for detecting harmful content, big data tools for mapping disinformation networks, and automation systems for civic engagement platforms. Deliverables encompass research briefs, prototype AI models, and strategic plans for scaling AI-driven interventions.

  • Proven track record of testing AI solutions in resource-constrained settings

  • Ability to design tools for broad adoption across diverse regions

  • Experience in AI modeling (NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics)

  • Commitment to fairness, transparency, and inclusivity in AI design

  • Experience working with policymakers or grassroots organizations

  • Fluency in English, French, or Arabic

  • Familiarity with open-source tools and open-data principles

  • Demonstrated ties to African communities
