🌐 Programme Overview

The IAFFE Feminist Economics School is designed to bring together approximately 20-30 early career scholars, practitioners, activists, and policymakers who may not previously have had formal training in feminist economics. The 2026 edition will be held at Universidad Icesi in Cali, Colombia, from July 6 to July 8, 2026 (two full workshop days and associated activities). The workshops will provide participants with a foundation in key feminist economic approaches, methodologies and policy applications, while prompting critical reflection on participants’ own contexts, practices and research.

Participants will have the chance to meet leading feminist economists, engage in peer networking, and connect theory with practical action. The school emphasises inclusivity and encourages candidates from Indigenous communities, marginalised and minority groups, and those whose work advances justice in economic thought and practice.

  • Travel grants are available to support participants in need of financial assistance.

👌🏻 Extra Information & Tips

  • Because slots are limited (~20–30 participants), it’s wise to submit a strong, clear application emphasising your engagement with feminist economics, any unique perspective (especially from underrepresented or Indigenous communities), and your intended use of the training.

  • Make sure to check travel logistics: participation at the venue in Cali, Colombia, implies that you will handle travel and visa arrangements (though travel grants may help).

  • Highlight how attending this school could strengthen your research, career or activism — especially if you work in areas of inequality, labour markets, unpaid care work, intersectional economics, or economic policy.

  • Because this is not a degree programme but a training school, it’s about capacity‐building, networking and frameworks rather than full credentials — yet it can significantly boost profile and networks.

  • Note the timeline carefully: application by November 2025, decision likely January 2026, event July 2026 — plan ahead for any travel, funding, permissions or institutional support.
