If you're a recent graduate or in your final year of undergraduate studies with a passion for public policy research, the Centre for Budget and Policy Studies (CBPS) invites you to apply for its 2025–2026 Research Fellowship. This immersive, year-long program in Bengaluru, India, offers aspiring researchers the opportunity to contribute to impactful studies in areas such as education, gender, governance, health, nutrition, public finance, livelihoods, and social security.

📖 CBPS Fellowship Overview

Launched in 2023 to commemorate CBPS's 25th anniversary, this fellowship provides a platform for young scholars to engage deeply in research within a supportive and academically rigorous environment. Fellows will collaborate closely with CBPS researchers, participate in in-house talks, seminars, workshops, and public events, and contribute to ongoing projects aligned with their interests. Each fellow will be paired with a mentor to guide their research journey.

Note: The fellowship does not cover housing, transportation, or additional financial support.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Recent graduates or final-year undergraduate students

  • Strong interest in research areas such as education, gender, governance, health & nutrition, public finance, livelihoods, or social security

  • Open to applicants from all disciplines and methodological backgrounds

  • CBPS particularly encourages applications from individuals belonging to historically underrepresented groups, including those marginalized by class, caste, gender, religion, linguistic affiliation, or first-generation scholars

  1. Statement of Purpose (SoP): Up to 1,500 words detailing your interest in the specified research areas

  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume: In MS Word format

  3. Two Letters of Reference
