ESA Student Internships overview

The ESA Student Internship Program offers internships ranging from three to six months. These internships provide students with the opportunity to work on real projects at ESA, gaining valuable experience and insights into the world of space exploration. Interns have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to ESA's missions and projects.

 

Eligible Countries

To be eligible for the ESA Student Internships you need to be a citizen of an ESA Member State (Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom) or an Associate Member or Cooperating State (Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Canada, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta).

 

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the ESA Student Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a student, preferably in the final or second-to-last year of a Master's degree program.

  2. Be enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship.

  3. Be a citizen of one of the countries mentioned above

Application Procedure

The application process for the ESA Student Internship Program involves below steps:

1. Browse Opportunities: Visit ESA's recruitment website to explore the available internship opportunities.


2. Select your internship: Select the opportunity that most interests you and fits best with your academic background and aspirations. You can apply to a maximum of two internship positions, however within each internship opportunity there is no limit to the choice of topics.


3. Create a Profile: Create a candidate profile on the ESA recruitment website.


4. Apply and Upload Documents: Upload your CV and a motivation letter and answer few questions explaining your interest in the internship.


5. Selection Process: Applications are reviewed, and candidates are shortlisted and selected. The selection process typically takes place between December and January, with internships starting as early as February and running until October.

ℹ️ The starting date of the internship is flexible (between February and October of the same year) and can be decided by mutual agreement with your tutor.
