EU Scholarships 2025-2026 For Turkish Students: Apply for Financial Support & Skill-Building

If you are an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational student in Türkiye (including Turkish citizens, or those under temporary or international protection), applications are now open for the EU Scholarships Project for the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships not only help with tuition and living costs but also aim to boost social cohesion, employability, and skills through training, mentoring, and community activities. Here's everything you need to know.



🎓 Scholarship Summary

  • Location: Türkiye

  • Host Institutions: The programme is implemented by Representation of ICMPD in Türkiye in partnership with Ankara University, Hasan Kalyoncu University, and the Marmara Municipalities Union.

  • Study Level:

    • Undergraduate

    • Graduate

    • 2-year post-secondary vocational students

    • Associate degree students

  • Target Group:

    • Turkish citizens

    • Persons under temporary protection in Türkiye

    • International protection beneficiaries in Türkiye

  • Fields of Focus: Not strictly field-limited; emphasis more on social cohesion and employability skills; cultural / soft skills and technical training (e.g. Project Management, Artificial Intelligence, English language) are part of support activities.

  • Value & Coverage:

    • For undergraduates: Annual allowance of €360, or the university fee contribution up to €500 

    • For graduate students: Annual allowance of €540, or fee reimbursement up to €500 

    • Payments are typically in two installments per semester, contingent on enrollment and academic performance.

  • Duration: Covers the academic year 2025-2026; disbursement is per semester, with monitoring of grades etc.

  • Application Deadline: 1 November 2025 

  • Start Date / Payments Begin: Payments begin in December 2025 


📚 Scholarship Overview

The EU Scholarships Project is not just financial aid; it includes structures for holistic support:

  • Stipends and Tuition Reimbursements: To help reduce the financial burden of studies.

  • Cohesion & Employability Activities:

    • Peer-Guide Volunteer Programme: previous recipients help new applicants, fostering community, mentorship.

    • Skills-training: Project Management and Artificial Intelligence training sessions.

    • Language courses: Online B1 English course via Ankara University’s TÖMER center.

    • Student orientation and “Belonging in the City” discovery walks to build social cohesion.

  • Monitoring & Success Metrics:

    • The programme tracks academic performance (students maintaining required GPA) for continuing payment eligibility.

    • Past cohorts (2023-2024) saw over 1,700 students across 23 provinces; some have graduated, others continuing with average performance benchmarks.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Age 18-35 by application deadline.

  • Minimum GPA: 2.5/4.0 or 65/100.

  • Be one of: Turkish citizen; under temporary protection; international protection in Türkiye.

  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in undergraduate, graduate, vocational (2-year post-secondary), or associate degree programmes.



📝 Application Procedure

  • Procedure:

    1. Applications open 15 September 2025 and close 1 November 2025.

    2. Application done via the official website: www.euburs.org 

    3. Results expected late November to early December 2025.

    4. Payments start December 2025, upon verification of enrollment and continued academic performance.

  • Documents Required: common required items are likely:

    • Academic transcripts (showing GPA)

    • Proof of enrollment or admission at eligible institution/program

    • Proof of identity / citizenship or protection status

    • Possibly a CV or motivation letter to show why you should be selected (especially for soft-skills/employability components)

    • Any other documents required by euburs.org portal (check the application site carefully)


ℹ️ Additional Information

  • Keep on track with deadlines: missing the 1 November 2025 deadline will disqualify your application.

  • Make sure your GPA is certified and meets the minimum. If your transcript uses a different scale, find a way to convert or show equivalence.

  • Prepare the supporting documents in advance (transcripts, identity, protection status).

  • Use the extra activities (skills training, language courses) as a chance not only to strengthen your CV but also to network and align with what the programme values: social cohesion, employability, community involvement.

  • If you are in provinces with less access, look out for outreach events or online info sessions. The programme is making efforts in that regard.
