🏛️ Host Universities
The Europubhealth+ consortium comprises eight European institutions known for excellence in public health education. Students will move between them according to pathway choices. The partner universities include:
University College Dublin (Ireland)
EHESP School of Public Health (France)
University of Granada – EASP (Spain)
University of Liège (Belgium)
Maastricht University (Netherlands)
Jagiellonian University Medical College, Krakow (Poland)
University of Sheffield (United Kingdom)
University of Bordeaux (France)
Depending on your chosen specialization, you may spend Year 1 at one set of universities (offering the foundational public health core) and Year 2 at another where your specialization is based.
✏️ Curriculum & Mobility Information
Structure & Mobility
The programme is two years full-time, structured around a mobility scheme across different universities in Europe.
Year 1 (Core Public Health Foundations)
Students take core modules (epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy, health promotion, research methods, environmental health, etc.).
The first year may be located in one of the universities offering foundational tracks (e.g. Sheffield, UCD, Granada, Liège) depending on your language track.
Year 2 (Specialization, Thesis, Placement / Internship)
Students move to another partner university offering their chosen specialization, complete advanced courses in that track, and carry out a master’s thesis/research project and usually a practice placement.
Integration Modules
At the end of each year, there is often an integration module, bringing together students across tracks for shared seminars, workshops, or training.
Mobility Grants / Funding for Year 2
Some students may be eligible for Erasmus+ mobility grants or other mobility support when they move to the 2nd year location.
Note: Because of the UK’s departure from the EU, some mobility support (Erasmus+ grants) may not be available for students going to the University of Sheffield.
📚 Specializations (Tracks)
In the second year, students select one specialization track (out of seven) to deepen their focus in a domain of public health. The available specializations typically include:
Health Promotion / Health Education
Health Economics / Health Policy
Epidemiology / Biostatistics / Infectious Diseases
Environmental & Planetary Health
Public Health Nutrition / Food and Nutrition Security
Health Systems & Management
Digital Public Health / Health Informatics / Public Health Innovation
Each specialization has specific advanced courses, seminars, and research projects tailored to that field. Students in that track will complete their thesis and internship in alignment with that specialty at the designated partner university offering it.
📃 Awarded Degree
Upon successful completion, graduates receive:
Two Master’s Degrees (one from the Year 1 university and one from the Year 2 university) — i.e. Double Master’s Degrees
Europubhealth+ Certificate of Achievement and Joint Diploma Supplement, which indicates your pathway, grades, and the consortium’s structure.
Thus, you come away with credentials from two national systems plus a unified supplement detailing your joint curriculum and specialization.
