If you're a social entrepreneur aged between 25 and 35, passionately advocating for human rights and gender justice, the Global Fellows in Courage (GFiC) 2025 accelerator program is now accepting applications. This six-month virtual fellowship, conducted via Zoom, aims to empower emerging leaders to drive bold social change, enhance their effectiveness, and advance their missions globally. In strategic partnership with the Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Studies (CHRHS) at Brown University, GFiC offers a comprehensive curriculum, mentorship, and a supportive global community. Global Fellows in Courage (GFiC) 2025 Summary

Global Fellows in Courage (GFiC) Overview

The GFiC program is designed to equip Fellows with essential concepts, a supportive cohort, valuable connections, and financial capital:


  • Concepts: Access to an online curriculum with bi-monthly interactive Zoom sessions led by experts, focusing on leadership, organizational growth, and contemporary human rights challenges.

  • Cohort: Integration into a global community of human rights leaders, fostering deep, lasting relationships and continuous engagement as alumni of both GFiC and Brown University's CHRHS.

  • Connections: Access to GFiC’s global network of experts and mentors who provide tailored support to advance Fellows' missions and impact.

  • Capital: A $2,500 stipend upon successful completion of the program, acknowledging dedication and active participation. Additionally, Fellows are eligible to apply for up to $10,000 in grant funding to support their projects.

 

Program Expectations

Fellows are expected to commit approximately 10-12 hours per month, including:


  • Bi-Monthly Sessions: Attend two 3-hour Zoom sessions each month, engaging in discussions, skill-building, and real-world applications.

  • Pre-Work: Complete all pre-session assignments, including videos, readings, and short tasks (up to 2 hours per session).

  • Project Development: Work on a specific project throughout the program and present it during the final cohort session.

  • Coaching: Participate in group coaching sessions and meet with an individual coach at least twice monthly.

 

Fellowship Benefits

  1. Financial Support: $2,500 stipend and eligibility for additional grant funding up to $10,000.

  2. Certification: Joint certificate of completion from GFiC and Brown University's CHRHS.

  3. Professional Development: Comprehensive online curriculum, interactive sessions, and personalized coaching to enhance leadership and advocacy skills.

  4. Networking: Membership in a global network of human rights leaders and experts, fostering collaborations and continuous support.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Age Requirement: Applicants should be between 25 and 35 years old, with exceptions possible.

  2. Experience: Minimum of three years in human rights advocacy, activism, community organizing, or social entrepreneurship.

  3. Focus Area: Demonstrated engagement in gender justice or related areas.

  4. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory.

 

Application Procedure


2. Resume/CV: Upload a current resume or CV detailing relevant experience and achievements.


3. Essay Responses: Provide thoughtful answers to the application essay questions, reflecting on your leadership experience and commitment to human rights advocacy.


4. Submission Deadline: Ensure all application materials are submitted by April 1, 2025.


Selection Process

  • Shortlisting: Semi-finalists will be notified by May 1, 2025.

  • Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will participate in a 20-minute selection interview between May 12–16, 2025.

  • Final Selection: The final 45 Fellows will be officially announced on June 1, 2025.
