The Nala Feminist Collective is now accepting applications for the 2025 I AM NALA Fellowship, a program dedicated to empowering young African women who are refugees, internally displaced persons, or stateless. This fellowship aims to enhance their leadership skills in peacebuilding and political arenas. This article will provide you with all details regarding this exciting opportunity.
Programme Structure
Over the course of one year (July 2025 to July 2026), the fellowship will offer:
Capacity and Technical Support: Enhancing leadership and political skills.
Mentorship: Guidance from experienced leaders across various sectors.
Solidarity and Networking: Building connections among fellows to foster mutual support.
Access and Resources: Providing tools and opportunities necessary for effective leadership.
Bi-monthly online sessions, including trainings and masterclasses, will facilitate dialogues with mentors who are experts and acclaimed senior leaders with a wealth of experiences across a range of institutions and organizations. The fellowship may also include potential in-person engagements, such as cohort convening at the Nalafem Summit.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Age: Between 18 and 40 years.
Leadership Roles: Leaders of campaigns or women's groups.
Alliance Building: Members of existing consortiums or collectives focused on alliance building.
Conflict Negotiation: Engaged in cross-conflict negotiations.
Political Involvement: Young women politicians holding political office.
Candidates should also align with the values outlined in the Africa Young Women Beijing +25 Manifesto and embrace Nala Feminist Collective's core principles:

Geographical Focus
The fellowship is open to young women political leaders from the Great Lakes, Sahel, and Horn of Africa regions, specifically from the following countries:
