🎓 Scholarship Summary
Location: Institut d’Enseignement Supérieur de Ruhengeri (INES-Ruhengeri), Musanze, Northern Province, Rwanda
Partners: INES-Ruhengeri in collaboration with YWCA Rwanda; funded by the Scottish Government through Oxfam
Study Level: Undergraduate (Bachelor's)
Target Group: Female Rwandan students aged 18–25 (up to 30 if living with a disability), especially first-year students from vulnerable backgrounds—including disabilities, early motherhood (unmarried), or single mothers—residing in one of 10 designated districts

Statistics Applied to Economy
Computer Sciences
Value & Coverage: Full coverage of tuition and related academic costs for the eligible programs
Duration: Duration of the Bachelor’s program (typically 3–4 years, as per INES’s standard programs)
Application Deadline: 25 August 2025
Start Date: Expected to begin with the next academic intake following submission (likely late 2025 or early 2026)
Eligible to: Rwandan female applicants aged 18–25 (or up to 30 with disabilities), who graduated secondary school between academic years 2019–2023, are first-time applicants (not currently enrolled in any higher-learning institution), from one of the districts of Kicukiro, Nyarugenge, Bugesera, Kayonza, Kamonyi, Muhanga, Gicumbi, Musanze, Rubavu, or Ngororero
🌍 Scholarship Overview
This scholarship, titled “Women in STEM”, aims to boost female participation in STEM fields by offering full financial support to young Rwandan women—especially from vulnerable backgrounds—to study key programs at INES-Ruhengeri. It covers all tuition and academic-associated costs for the Bachelor’s degree in the selected fields . The initiative focuses on inclusion by targeting girls from communities underrepresented in STEM, ensuring increased access to quality higher education and future professional opportunities.

This program equips students with strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills applied to economics and decision-making. Applicants must have completed secondary school with one of the following approved cluster combinations:

✅ Eligibility Criteria
Nationality & Gender: Must be a female Rwandan
Age: 18–25 years (up to 30 if living with a disability)
Educational Background:
Graduated from secondary school between academic years 2019 and 2023
For Statistics Applied to Economy, must have one of specified pre-university cluster combinations (e.g., Physics–Economics–Mathematics; Mathematics–Geography; Latin Sciences; etc.)
For Computer Sciences, must have held one of the approved cluster combinations (e.g., Physics–Chemistry–Mathematics; Software Development; Electronics and Telecommunication; Computer Science; Solar Energy; etc.)
Enrollment Status: Must be a first-year student not currently enrolled in any higher education institution
District of Residence: Must come from one of the ten specified districts
Vulnerability: Preference for those with disabilities, early motherhood (not married), or single mothers aged up to 30 years

Notarized copy of secondary school certificate
National ID
Two recent color passport-sized photographs
Medical proof of disability (if applicable)
Proof of economic vulnerability, signed/issued by recognized local authority
