Dennis McDermott Research Scholarships Eligibility
To be eligible for the Dennis McDermott Research Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Indigenous Identity: Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin.
Citizenship: Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Enrollment: Must be enrolled or eligible to enroll in a Graduate Research degree at La Trobe University.
Research Proposal: Must have a research proposal or project that aligns with the goals and values of the scholarship.
Supervision: Must identify a potential supervisor at La Trobe University and secure their endorsement.
Academic Merit: Demonstrated academic merit and potential for research excellence.
Application Process
1. Develop a Research Proposal
Applicants must develop a research proposal or apply for a Graduate Research project (where available).
2. Secure Endorsement
Identify an appropriate supervisor via the La Trobe University website and contact them to indicate that you wish to be considered for this scholarship, or contact the pre-determined project supervisor to obtain their endorsement if applying for a graduate research project
3. Submit Application
When you have received in-principle agreement for supervision, Submit an application, selecting “Graduate Research – Specialist Research Scholarship” as the scholarship type.
