Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the scholarship:

  1. Citizenship: Hold citizenship in an African country (candidates with dual citizenship from the European Economic Area are not eligible).

  2. Academic Background: Completed or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at one of Sciences Po’s partner institutions or a Mastercard Foundation partner organization.

  3. Financial Need: Demonstrate genuine financial need for higher education funding.

  4. Commitment: Show a commitment to effecting change in Africa, particularly in public policy and major political, environmental, and societal transitions.

  5. Age Limit: Be under 35 years old at the start of the Master's program.

  6. Educational Level: Not already hold or be completing a Master's degree.

  7. Program Application: Apply for a two-year Master's program at one of Sciences Po's Graduate Schools (one-year Master's, dual degrees, joint Master's programs, and programs at the School of Journalism are not eligible).

1. Prepare Supporting Documents:

Gather all necessary documents, including academic transcripts, proof of income, and identification.


2. Online Application:

Apply for your chosen Master's program and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program through Sciences Po's international graduate admissions platform.


3. Selection Process:

Applications are evaluated based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to Africa's development. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
