Scholarship Highlights
Annual Stipend: For the year 2025, recipients will receive a tax-free stipend of $35,522 per annum, with annual indexation to adjust for living cost increases.
Duration: The scholarship supports full-time Doctoral candidates for up to 3.5 years and Master of Philosophy students for up to 2 years.

Faculty of Business and Law: Accounting, Finance & Economics; Management; Marketing; Law.
Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences: Engineering; Computer Science & Information Technology; Mathematics; Physics.
Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health: Medical Science; Nursing; Psychology & Human Behaviour; Environmental & Biological Science; Chemistry.
Faculty of the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities: Humanities & Social Inquiry; Creative & Performing Arts; Education; Literature & Language; Social Sciences & Advocacy.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be enrolled or applying for a Doctoral degree (PhD) or Master of Philosophy (MPhil) at the University of Wollongong.
Must meet UOW’s academic entry requirements for a research degree, including English language proficiency for international applicants.
Must demonstrate research potential and academic excellence, as the scholarship is awarded based on merit.
Candidates must be commencing or currently enrolled in a full-time HDR program (part-time candidates may be considered under exceptional circumstances).
Not currently receiving another equivalent scholarship or financial support that provides a stipend greater than 75% of the AGRTP amount.
Must meet visa requirements for international students to study in Australia (if applicable).
Must be available to commence the scholarship in the Autumn session of 2025 unless an approved deferral is granted.
Application Process
To apply for the AGRTP scholarship, candidates should follow the instructions provided during the UOW online application process. Successful applicants are expected to commence their studies in the Autumn session following their application.
