The World Bank Government Analytics Fellowship is a ground-breaking initiative established to unlock the power of under-utilized government data to enhance public administration efficiency. Supported by experts from the World Bank and academics from UCL, the program offers a combination of intensive Washington, D.C. training and ongoing virtual mentorship to support fellows in creating actionable analytics projects tailored to their own government institutions.

An initial virtual pre-training orientation to introduce the Government Analytics Handbook and set expectations.
Two key in-person events in Washington:
Public Institutions for Development Conference (January 28–29, 2026)
Government Analytics Course (January 30–February 6, 2026)
Post-training mentorship and live virtual follow-up sessions guiding project development over the remaining months.
Culminating in virtual presentations of project outcomes toward the end of the six-month period.

Able to travel to Washington, D.C. in late January to early February 2026.
Must be nominated by their organization (up to two applicants per organization).

ℹ️ Additional Information
Pre-training requirement: Prior to arrival in D.C., fellows engage in a virtual session to review foundational materials from the Government Analytics Handbook.
Mentorship & Virtual Learning: After the Washington segment, fellows receive guidance and support through virtual sessions and project mentorship over the remaining months.
Continuation of the Fellowship: The World Bank intends to hold this fellowship annually and is exploring regional editions and country-specific communities of practice in the future.
