Erasmus Mundus CCD-STeDe Overview

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master CCD-STeDe is a unique, inclusive, high-quality, and innovative program managed by a consortium of 2 EU and 3 non-EU universities (Italy, Ecuador, Burkina Faso, Portugal, South Africa). The program focuses on alternatives to development, climate justice, social inclusion, environmental protection, international cooperation, circular and solidarity economy, and intercultural relation challenges of territorial development. It aims to offer examples of territories in climate adaptation involving all local organizations promoting just transitions and sustainable development paths.

 

Curriculum and Structure

The program is organized into four academic paths, each offering a variety of teachings and specializations:

  1. Climate Change, Sustainability, Development: University of Padua and Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Quito, Ecuador)

  2. Regional and Local Studies: University of Padua and Universidade da Madeira (Portugal)

  3. Territorial Management: University of Padua and Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo (Burkina Faso)

  4. Environmental Management: University of Padua and University of Johannesburg (South Africa)


The first semester is carried out in presence at the University of Padua, while the second semester depends on the chosen academic path. The third semester involves further specialization, and the fourth semester is dedicated to an internship and thesis, which can be completed anywhere in the world.

 

Mobility Options and Specializations

Students will have the opportunity to study in multiple countries, gaining diverse perspectives and experiences. The program's mobility options include:

  • First Semester:** University of Padua (Italy)

  • Second Semester: Depending on the academic path (Ecuador, Portugal, Burkina Faso, South Africa)

  • Third Semester: Further specialization at the partner universities

  • Fourth Semester: Internship and thesis anywhere in the world

 

Scholarship Benefits and Coverage

  • Monthly Allowance: €1,400 per month for the entire duration of the program (24 months)

  • Tuition Fees: Full coverage of tuition fees

  • Travel Costs: Coverage of travel expenses to and from the host institutions

  • Living Expenses: Monthly subsistence allowance to cover accommodation, food, and other living costs

  • Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the program

  • Language Courses: Access to language courses to improve proficiency in the required languages

  • Cultural Activities: Participation in cultural activities and events organized by the host institutions

  • Visa Costs: Coverage of visa application fees and related expenses

  • Installation Costs: Financial support for initial setup and installation in the host country

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Student worldwide are eligible

  2. Proficiency in English and a second language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese)

  3. Holds a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field

  4. Strong academic record and motivation for the program
