📘 Program Overview
The New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program at TMU is designed to nurture emerging talents from the Asia-Pacific region who are passionate about health sciences and interested in Taiwan’s advanced healthcare education system. Participants will engage in:
Medicine-focused coursework or laboratory training (11 hours/week)
Intensive Mandarin language classes (6 hours/week)
Cultural experiences and excursions to explore Taiwan's society and traditions
The program encourages academic excellence, professional growth, and international collaboration through a multicultural learning environment. All courses and activities are mandatory; full participation is required to maintain eligibility and benefits.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a citizen of an eligible New Southbound country
Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (biology, medicine, healthcare, data analysis)
Demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
TOEIC: 785
IELTS: 5.5
TOEFL iBT: 72
TOEFL ITP: 543
PTE: 50
Provide a bank statement showing a balance of at least USD 1,000
Not be receiving any other Taiwanese government or institutional scholarships
