2025 Resilience Youth Network Fellowship: A Summer Program for Future Climate Leaders

If you are a high school junior or senior from the United States, Latin America, or South Asia with a passion for climate resilience and civic engagement, the Resilience Youth Network Fellowship 2025 is calling your name. Applications are now open for this transformative five-week summer experience, where young changemakers will engage directly with global climate experts, develop regional solutions, and publish their own Capstone Projects.

📌 Fellowship Summary

  • Location: Online (English-medium sessions)

  • Host Institution: Resilience Youth Network

  • Student Level: High school juniors and seniors (Grades 11–12)

  • Target Group: Students from the United States, Latin America, and South Asia

  • Focus: Climate resilience, governance, communication, and risk reduction

  • Duration: 5 weeks (South Asia: June 1–29, 2025; USA & LATAM: overlapping dates)

  • Eligible to: Students fluent in English from the specified regions

🌍 Fellowship Overview

The Resilience Youth Network Fellowship is designed to develop future leaders in climate adaptation and civic policy. Through a mix of expert-led lectures, group-led dialogues, and practical assignments, fellows will explore the intersection of climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, climate finance, communication, and governance.

Each fellow will join a cohort of 20 peers (15 from the USA and Latin America, 5 from South Asia) and work on a Capstone Project for publication through the program’s media partner, GreenZine.

📚 Curriculum & Activities

Fellows participate in weekly sessions structured as follows:

  • Week 1: Introduction to resilience and program overviewAssignment: Map exercise using GIS toolsSpeakers: RYN Board Members

  • Week 2: Climate civics, governance, and financeAssignment: Thematic reading taskSpeakers: Invited climate governance experts

  • Week 3: Regional disaster risk reductionAssignment: Region-specific case analysisSpeakers: Aris Papadopoulos, Michael Martello, Prof. Jiwnath Gimire

  • Week 4: Climate impacts and solutions tailored to regionsSpeakers: Dane Carlson, Deepak Marahatta

  • Week 5: Climate communication and storytellingAssignment: Capstone Project for publicationSpeaker: Max Sano (GreenZine)


Fellows will spend approximately 3 hours per week (2 hours in live sessions + 1 hour for independent or group work).
