🌍 Adinkra Fellowship Overview

The Adinkra Fellowship is a dynamic leadership program designed to connect and empower rising leaders from Africa and its diaspora. The fellowship emphasizes cross-cultural exchange, community transformation, and the celebration of Black excellence.


🧩 Program Structure:

  1. Two Immersive Week-Long Trips:

    • One in an African country and another in a country with a significant African heritage.

    • Activities include leadership workshops, mentorship sessions, cultural site visits, and networking events.

    • All expenses covered, plus a $1,500 travel stipend ($750 per trip).

  2. Collaborative Group Projects:

    • Fellows form small groups (3-5 members) to develop innovative solutions addressing challenges in Black communities.

    • Projects are submitted for peer review, with top initiatives receiving up to $50,000 for pilot implementation.

  3. Adinkra University Tour:

    • Post-program, fellows organize events at educational institutions to share their experiences and inspire others.

  4. Alumni Engagement:

    • Fellows join a global network of changemakers, with ongoing opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and participation in alumni events.

  • Be available to participate in all fellowship activities, including both trips and collaborative projects.

Selection Process:

  • Applications and nominations are reviewed by a distinguished jury composed predominantly of journalists and media executives.

  • The selection process emphasizes transparency and merit, aiming to identify individuals with notable accomplishments and the potential for transformative impact.

  • Special honors will be presented for Career Achievement, Outstanding Black Leadership, and Global Patronage.
