🌍 Program Overview

The AMEL Institute Summer 2025 is an interactive, fully online leadership program spanning 8 weeks, comprising 6 weeks of instructional content bookended by introductory and concluding sessions. Participants will engage with weekly video lessons, interactive discussions, quizzes, and assignments, dedicating approximately 2 hours per week. The curriculum is delivered by seasoned activists and esteemed experts from institutions like Stanford and Harvard, focusing on:

  • Human rights history and advocacy

  • Activism self-care and digital safety

  • Genocide processes and prevention (including Holocaust and Yazidi case studies)

  • Conflict transformation and non-violent movement building

  • Democratic development

  • Effective communication and new media tools for activism

  • Gender mainstreaming and cross-cultural allyship


The program fosters a diverse cohort of young leaders, with English as the primary language of instruction. Support is available in Arabic and French to ensure inclusivity. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their achievements.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Reside in or originate from the Middle East or Africa

  • Demonstrate a commitment to addressing issues such as discrimination, inequality, injustice, persecution, human rights violations, or conflict

  • Possess a vision for initiating or enhancing activism efforts

  • Be proficient in English, with additional support available in Arabic and French
