  • South African Universities: Academic year starting January 2027



💰 Scholarship Benefits

  • Full tuition and academic fees paid directly to the university

  • Living allowance

  • UK Visa and Health Surcharge, TB test, and Biometric costs

  • Additional allowances for Arrival, Laptop, and Departure

  • Economy-class flights to and from the study destination

  • Note: Support is not provided for spouses and dependents


✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be nationals and permanent residents of Zambia, Zimbabwe, or Malawi

  • Intend to return to their home country after completing their studies

  • Not have commenced their intended course of study

  • Apply to one or more of the Beit Trust’s partner universities


🎓 Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

  • Academic Achievement: Preference for Distinction or Upper Second Class degrees

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of three years in a relevant field

  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated through academic, professional, or community settings

  • Course Relevance: Alignment with developmental disciplines like Medicine, Engineering, Education, Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Conservation

  • Commitment to Return: Clear intention to contribute to the development of the home country



💼 Application Process

  1. Submit One Application via the Beit Trust online portal

  2. Apply to Partner Universities and obtain an offer

  3. Prepare and upload Required Documents:

    • Degree certificates and transcripts

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Personal Statement (max 300 words)

    • Recent photograph

    • Copy of valid passport

    • Three references: Academic, Character, Employer (Forms provided)


ℹ️ Note: Applications must be completed in one session; documents cannot be saved and returned to later.


📝 Important Notes

  • Ph.D. Candidates: The Trust does not offer scholarships for Ph.D. research, support may be considered only in exceptional cases

  • Medical and Veterinary Applicants: Must have completed 18 months of internship and at least one year of in-country posting; experience in rural practice is advantageous
