If you’re a graduate student at Concordia University working on a social justice-focused thesis and eager to gain recognition and financial support, the Social Justice Centre at Concordia University is now inviting applications for its 2025–2026 Graduate Fellowships. Four bursaries of $5,000 CAD each are available. As a Fellow, you’ll receive the title “Graduate Student Fellow,” be featured on the Centre’s website, and gain access to dedicated co-working spaces. Apply by midnight on September 15, 2024 via email to the Social Justice Centre.

📚 Fellowship Overview

This fellowship, hosted by Concordia’s Social Justice Centre, supports graduate students whose research addresses critical social justice issues. Fellows will:

  • Receive a $5,000 bursary and the title “Graduate Student Fellow”.

  • Access shared co-working spaces in the Hall Building and the SHIFT Co-Working Space for Social Transformation.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  2. Work on a research project directly connected to social justice. Priority is given to those in the thesis-writing stage.

Include the following in the email:

  1. Applicant’s name, degree program, and department.

  2. Thesis supervisor’s name and department.

  3. Project title and research topics.

  4. A single PDF containing:

    • Updated academic CV.

    • Current transcript (unofficial copy is accepted).

    • Brief project description (maximum 2 pages) stating research question, connection to social justice, and project timeline.


🔍 Expectations - Fellow Responsibilities

Fellows are expected to:

  • Work actively on their research project.

  • Deliver a talk presenting their work to members of the Social Justice Centre.

  • Attend events organized by the Centre.
