Global UGRAD Exchange Program 2025

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) 2025 offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students worldwide to experience a fully-funded semester in the United States. This program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, aims to foster cross-cultural understanding and leadership development through both academic study and hands-on cultural engagement. Here’s a detailed look at the program, including its benefits, eligibility criteria, and the application process.

What is the Global UGRAD Program?

The Global UGRAD program was created to promote mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries by providing non-degree academic exchange opportunities to a diverse group of students. Since its launch, Global UGRAD has welcomed thousands of students from over 60 countries. Participants spend a semester at an American university, taking undergraduate courses in various fields. Beyond academics, they engage in community service and cultural activities that enrich their exchange experience.

Benefits of the Global UGRAD Program

Global UGRAD is fully funded, so selected students won’t need to worry about most expenses. The benefits include:

1. Tuition and Fees: The program covers all tuition fees for courses taken during the semester.

2. Travel and Visa: Round-trip airfare and assistance with the visa application process are provided.

3. Housing and Meals: Accommodation in dorms or student apartments and meal plans are covered.

4. Stipend: Students receive a monthly stipend to cover personal expenses.

5. Health Insurance: Medical insurance is included for the duration of the program.

6. Cultural and Professional Development Activities: Through organized workshops, excursions, and community service, students get a chance to explore American culture and share insights from their own backgrounds.

Program Structure

Participants in the Global UGRAD program are enrolled full-time in undergraduate courses but don’t receive a degree. Each participant takes 12–15 credits per semester, selecting courses that suit their academic interests. Besides classes, students volunteer in their communities to fulfill the program’s community service component. They’re also encouraged to join clubs, attend events, and participate in workshops to improve leadership skills.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Global UGRAD program, applicants must:
