📚 Scholarship Overview

The IDFC FIRST Bank Engineering Scholarship Program is a need-based financial assistance scheme by IDFC FIRST Bank, under its CSR / educational initiatives. Its goal is to reduce financial barriers for capable students entering engineering, enabling them to pursue full-time engineering education in B.Tech / B.E programmes at participating colleges.

Some key elements of the structure & process:

  • Eligible Colleges: There is a fixed list of colleges approved by the scholarship programme. Students must have gained admission into one of these.

  • Verification: Home visits and verification steps are part of the process. If applicants fail to facilitate these or do not meet other conditions (e.g. passing yearly exams), continuation may be denied.

  • Disbursement: Scholarship funds are used for academic expenses. Money is transferred to the college (against tuition) once the college completes required KYC/vendor empanelment etc. Students need to submit their passed-year marksheets etc for renewal.

🎁 Benefits of the Scholarship

  • Reduces or covers tuition or part of it (whichever is lower) up to ₹1,00,000/year for four years, thus easing financial burdens.

  • Enables students from low-income households (family income ≤ ₹6 lakhs p.a.) to access quality engineering education without carrying the pressure of fees.

  • The scholarship is renewable for all four years provided the student meets academic progression requirements and other terms.

  • Encourages merit + need: has conditions to ensure only students genuinely requiring aid get it.
