💡 Scholarship Overview

The Endeavour II Scholarships Scheme is administered by the Scholarships Unit within Malta’s Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research, and Innovation and is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) 2021–2027. It supports postgraduate education at MQF Levels 7 and 8, aiming to reduce skill gaps, enhance innovation, and foster Malta’s socio-economic growth.


🧩 Programme Structure:

  • Open to full-time, part-time, distance learning, or blended learning modalities (Level 7 only).

  • Full-time only for Level 8 (doctoral) studies.

  • Programmes must be recognised by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) or MQRIC-equivalent.

🎁 Scholarship Benefits

MQF Level 7 (Master's):Government

  • €113 per ECTS (foreign institutions) or €65 per ECTS (Maltese institutions)

  • €4,000/year Study Abroad Allowance (if applicable)

  • Up to €2,400/year for on-campus visits (distance/blended learners)

  • €2,000/year Assistance Allowance (for eligible applicants)

  • €2,000/year Disability Allowance (if applicable)


MQF Level 8 (Doctoral):

  • Up to €32,000 (tuition and bench fees combined)

  • €4,000/year Study Abroad Allowance

  • Up to €1,600 travel allowance (max 8 research-related visits)

  • Same assistance/disability allowance eligibility as Level 7

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a Maltese citizen, EU/EEA national with permanent residence, or a third-country national with long-term residence status in Malta.

  • Have resided in Malta for at least five years before application.

  • Be applying for a programme starting between 9th May 2025 and 8th May 2026.

  • Not already hold a qualification at the same or higher MQF level.

  • Not be receiving any full scholarship for the same course from other Maltese public sources.

Application Procedure

All applications must be submitted online at myscholarship.gov.mt by Friday, 13th June 2025, at noon (Malta local time). Supporting documentation not available by that date may be submitted by 10th October 2025 at 4:00 PM, but only if clearly indicated.


📂 Required Documents

A scanned copy of the following documents must be uploaded with the application:

  1. Work and Education Form (Schedule II) (Mandatory)

  2. Motivational Letter (~300 words) clearly highlighting the relevance of the proposed study to the selected priority area (Mandatory)

  3. Academic Transcripts/Results (if available)

  4. Unconditional Offer/Letter of Acceptance (ULA) from the Recognised Institution (if available)

  5. MQRIC Evaluation Report or Receipt (for qualifications not issued by UoM, MCAST, or ITS)

  6. EU Disability Card (if applicable)

  7. Permanent Residence Permit (Mandatory for non-Maltese applicants)

  8. Declaration Form (Schedule I) (Mandatory)

  9. Confirmation of Area of Study from the University sent directly to the Endeavour Office (if available)

  10. Assistance Allowance Declaration (Schedule III) (Mandatory)


ℹ️ Additional Notes:

  • Only programmes accredited and recognised by MFHEA or through MQRIC are eligible.

  • Applicants must provide official proof of start and end dates, ECTS workload, tuition and bench fees, and study modality in the ULA.

  • Applications are reviewed based on academic merit (20%), motivation letter (65%), and work experience (15%).
