Applications are now open for Minerva Scholarship Fund (MSF) for the second round of applications that closes on 15th of November 2024. The Minerva Scholarship Fund at Leiden University is a prestigious scholarship program designed to support outstanding international students who wish to conduct a research or a project abroad as part of their studies at Leiden University. This scholarship is available for both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. The scholarship amount ranges from €900 to €2000. To be eligible for the Minerva Scholarship, applicants must have an excellent academic record and demonstrate financial need.

Minerva Scholarship Fund Description

MSF does not deal with applications to study at Leiden University or for payment of a study at Leiden University. Only the applications of students who are currently studying at Leiden University and who aim to do a special project abroad (so abroad from the Netherlands).


Scholarship amount:

• Between €900 and €2000.

• The following expenses can be subsidised: research costs; international travel and living costs.

 

Eligibility criteria and Requirements

  • You are registered as a Bachelor or Master student at Leiden University.

  • You do not need to be a member of L.S.V. Minerva.

  • The application pertains to an exceptional or prestigious study or research project abroad.

  • The project falls into one of the following categories: internship, study or research.

  • Projects in the Netherlands are not allocated any scholarships.

  • If your application is granted, you must write a project report with accompanying images within three months after the end of the project.

  • During the evaluation process, attention is given to the relevance of the research and how it will contribute to the advancement of academic knowledge and to what extent the University or the professor connected to the project is leading.


• Note: PhD tracks and complete Master programmes are not eligible.

 

Application Process

  • Complete the form.

  • Check you have all the required documents.

  • Fill in the following Google docs form

  • Submit your complete application dossier to the address provided, before the deadline.


List of enclosures that are to be submitted digitally, together with the application form:

  • Explanation of the project

  • Budget

  • Resume

  • Motivation letter

  • List of grades

  • At least one recommendation letter


Application Deadline: Send and mail the complete application package to the address provided in the application form before 15 November.
