University of Groningen is calling for PhD. candidates to apply for several available scholarships in different Fields. See below.
Position Summary:
The UG candidate will utilize newly developed microscopy methods, including Förster resonance energy transfer-fluorescence lifetime imaging (FRET-FLIM), to map SNARE protein trafficking to WPBs. Techniques include FRET-FLIM microscopy, mammalian cell culturing, CRISPR, and molecular cloning.
Qualifications:
A master's degree in one of the following expertise: molecular biology, biochemistry.
a good command of English (oral and written)
enthusiastic and a team player.
willing to spend research time in Rotterdam / Groningen
experience with mammalian cell biology and advanced microscopy approaches is an advantage.
Conditions of employment:
A salary of € 2,770 gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of € 3,539 gross per month in the fourth and final year
A full-time position (1.0 FTE)
A holiday allowance of 8% of gross annual income
an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance
Minimum of 29 holidays and additional 12 holidays in case of full-time employment.
The successful candidate will first be offered a temporary position of one year with the option of renewal for another three years. Prolongation of the contract is contingent on sufficient progress in the first year to indicate that successful completion of the PhD thesis within the next three years is to be expected.

Position Summary:
This project examines the effects of geopolitical tensions on globalized production networks and supply chains. These tensions may necessitate a reconfiguration of these systems. The study aims to understand how multinational firms, with outsourced and diversified supply chains, adapt to these changes. The research is part of FEB’s Opera programme and supervised by Dr Chengyong Xiao and Prof. Taco van der Vaart.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is ambitious, highly motivated and wishes to make a career in research. You have a thorough training in research skills, speaks and writes English fluently and has obtained excellent results in the Master phase. The PhD candidate should have a background (MSc, Research Master) in international business, operations management, industrial engineering, or other related fields in business and economics.

A salary of € 2,770 gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of € 3,539 gross per month in the fourth and final year
A full-time position (1.0 FTE)

Position Summary:
Research aims to delve into how digital technologies intersect with environmental, societal, and governance (ESG) objectives. We are particularly interested in the enabling role digital technologies can take to achieve ESG objectives, while also considering potential trade-offs in the face of competing interests of different stakeholders. By utilizing secondary data and computationally intensive methods, we aim to contribute to a stakeholder perspective on the broader ramifications of using digital technologies in organizations.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is ambitious, highly motivated and wishes to make a career in research. You have a thorough training in research skills, speaks and writes English fluently and has obtained excellent results in the Master phase.
The PhD candidate should have a background (MSc, Research Master) in business or management, psychology, social sciences, economics/econometrics or any other (quantitative) social science discipline. We are also open to backgrounds in engineering or computer science. For the project, we are looking for someone with an interest in quantitative research. Ideally, the candidate already has knowledge of quantitative and/or programming skills. More importantly we are looking for candidates with the willingness to develop these skills as part of their PhD trajectory.

A salary of € 2,770 gross per month in the first year, up to a maximum of € 3,539 gross per month in the fourth and final year
A full-time position (1.0 FTE)
A holiday allowance of 8% of gross annual income
An 8% end-of-the-year allowance

A temporary full-time appointment for a period of four years, under the condition of a positive assessment at the end of the first year. PhD candidates contribute 20% of their time to teaching in years 2-4.
