🎓 Fellowship Summary
Location: Worldwide (host university abroad)
Host Institution: Leading international universities or research institutes
Study Level: PhD or Post-Doc research only (Master’s not eligible)
Target Group: Women from developing or emerging economies (dual citizenship with a developed nation disqualifies eligibility)
Fields of Research: STEM disciplines—especially Physical Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics
Value & Coverage: Based on actual expenses—up to USD 50,000/year for PhD; USD 40,000/year for Post-Doc
Duration: Initially one academic year, renewable until completion, subject to performance and recommendations
Application Deadline: November 7, 2025, at 12:00 noon CST (UTC–6)
Notification of Results: Early April 2026
Eligible To: Women citizens of eligible developing/emerging countries; must have applied, be admitted, or enrolled in a host institution abroad
📚 Fellowship Overview
The Faculty for the Future program empowers talented women scientists by providing funding and support for advanced STEM research at universities worldwide. Fellows become part of a global network of change-makers, with a strong emphasis on returning home after studies to contribute to socio-economic development, STEM teaching and research, entrepreneurship, or influencing STEM policy and gender representation.
🎁 Benefits
Full Funding: Covers tuition, bench fees, accommodation, living allowance (books, supplies, medical insurance, transport), visa costs, initial travel, and conference expenses. Up to USD 3,000/year per child under 6 or USD 1,500/year per child aged 6–15—capped at USD 10,000/year for childcare, at the discretion of the Foundation
Renewable Support: Each year renewals are contingent on academic progress, supervisor recommendation, and a strong reintegration plan
Global Network: Fellows join a vibrant community of accomplished women from developing countries, engaging in outreach and leadership
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
Be female and a citizen of a developing or emerging economy (dual citizenship with a developed country is not allowed)
Be preparing for a PhD or doing post-doctoral research in a STEM field (Master’s degrees are not supported)
Have applied to, been admitted by, or be enrolled at, a host university abroad (sandwich programs allowed if the degree is awarded abroad or jointly—but not solely by the home institution)
Possess an excellent academic record
Be committed to returning to your home country/region upon completion to contribute to socio-economic development via teaching, research, entrepreneurship, or public policy in STEM
Demonstrate leadership, community outreach, and a track record of encouraging girls and women into STEM

Results: Announced by end of March / early April 2026; successful applicants also receive email notification
