The SHARE_Africa PhD Scholarships are part of the broader "Science Hubs for Advanced Research & Education with Africa" (SHARE_Africa) project, under Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). This program seeks to enhance research collaboration between African and Italian institutions by providing African PhD students with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research within Italian universities and research centers.
The scholarship focuses on key thematic areas aligned with both European Union missions and the Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA-2024), including:
Cultural Heritage and Sustainable Tourism
Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Water Management
One Health, Global Health, Planetary Health
Each scholarship recipient will undertake a research mobility period ranging from 6 to 12 months, during which they will collaborate with Italian research groups, participate in academic activities, and contribute to joint research projects.
The SHARE_Africa PhD Scholarship provides a grant of €15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Euros) to each recipient. This amount is intended to cover the costs associated with the scholar's stay in Italy, including travel expenses, visa fees, health insurance, subsistence, and accommodation
