Scholarship Overview

The STANLIB-ABSIP Bursary Programme, a collaboration between STANLIB and the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP), seeks to empower historically disadvantaged students aspiring to excel in the financial services industry. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the STANLIB-ABSIP Bursary, applicants must meet the following requirements:


1. Academic Performance:

  • Achieve an average of 75% or higher in core academic subjects.


2. Leadership & Extracurricular Involvement (optional but preferred):

  • Participation in activities such as sports, debating, or chess.


3. Financial Need:

  • Demonstrate financial hardship through supporting documents.


4. Citizenship:

  • Be a Black South African citizen as defined by the B-BBEE Act.

Application Procedure

Follow these steps to apply for the bursary:

Complete the official STANLIB-ABSIP Bursary Fund online application form


2. Gather the required documents:

  • Certified copies of your ID and that of your parent(s) or guardian(s).

  • Academic records/transcripts and a university fee statement.

  • A one-page motivation letter.

  • Certified 3-month bank statements and payslips of your parent(s) or guardian(s).


3. Upload Documents

Upload all required documents via the application platform and submit your application by the specified deadline. Ensure that file sizes do not exceed 10 MB per document.
