Are you a young changemaker passionate about fostering peace and inclusion in your community? The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites you to apply for the 2025 Regional Youth Peacebuilding Fellowship Programme, a flagship initiative under the Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust (Y4IET) project. This transformative experience aims to empower 30 young leaders to become architects of peace in their regions by challenging stereotypes, fostering trust, and launching impactful initiatives.

📌 Fellowship Summary

  • Location: Western Balkans and surrounding regions

  • Host Institution: United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

  • Level: Non-academic fellowship

  • Target Group: Young individuals aged 18–29

  • Fields of Focus: Peacebuilding, inclusion, equality, youth leadership, media, arts, and culture

  • Funding: Fully funded, including training, mentorship, and project support

  • Duration: Approximately 6 months (mid-2025 to late 2025)

  • Application Deadline: 25 May 2025

  • Start Date: Mid-2025

  • Eligible To: Young individuals aged 18–29 from the region

📝 Fellowship Overview

The Regional Youth Peacebuilding Fellowship Programme offers a unique opportunity for young leaders to engage in:

  • Engagement & Education: Participate in regional events to deepen understanding of peace education, the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda, and promoting unity through media, arts, and culture.

  • Networking & Collaboration: Join a vibrant network of young changemakers to tackle shared regional challenges and forge lasting partnerships.

  • Showcasing Solutions: Present your initiatives at high-profile events, including the Regional Youth Conference in October 2025, and act as facilitators of change in the region.

  • Commit to active participation in all fellowship activities at local and regional levels.

  1. Complete the application form.

  2. Submit the following documents:

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Motivational Letter (maximum 1 page) detailing:

      • Your motivation to join the fellowship.

      • How you plan to utilize the experience to benefit your community.

      • The unique experiences, qualities, and skills you bring.


🕵🏻 Selection Process:

  • Applications will be reviewed by the project selection committee based on the outlined criteria and the quality of the motivational letter.

  • All applicants will be notified of their application status via email during May 2025.

  • Selected participants will be invited to an online information session.

  • A waiting list will be established in case of cancellations.
