UNICORE 7.0 project Scholarships Overview
The UNICORE 7.0 project is a collaborative initiative promoted by Italian universities, with support from UNHCR, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, and other partners. It aims to increase opportunities for refugees currently residing in Ethiopia, India, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe to continue their higher education in Italy.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for UNICORE 7.0 project Scholarships, Applicants must
Be residing in one of the specified countries mentioned above and have recognized refugee status in collaboration with UNHCR.
Hold a qualification valid for admission to the chosen second cycle degree program.
Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 according to the country of graduation's tertiary education grading system or equivalent according to the comparable table issued by the Italian Ministry of Education.
Hold a degree obtained in or after 2020 and no later than the call deadline (please note that some universities do not apply a time limit for graduation; refer to individual calls for applications).
Application Procedure
1. Application Period: March 3, 2025 (noon, UTC+1) to April 18, 2025 (noon, UTC+2).
2. Application Submission: Candidates can submit applications along with required documents via the UNICORE portal.
3. Required Documents:
Copy of a valid Proof of Registration (PoR) Card issued by national authorities in collaboration with UNHCR.
Certificate attesting that the qualification required for admission to the master's degree course has been obtained.
List of passed exams with marks (Transcript of Records).
Certification of English language proficiency as required by the chosen course.
Curriculum vitae or motivational letter detailing all experiences that can be useful to evaluate the candidate’s competencies.
Selection Process
The selection process is divided into two phases:
1. Phase 1:
Assessment of Documentation
Academic background and GPA.
Curriculum Vitae.
Relevance of previous studies to the chosen program.
2. Phase 2:
Online Interview
Evaluation of academic and technical skills.
English language proficiency assessment.
Candidates with less than 50/80 points will not qualify.
⚠️IMPORTANT NOTES
It is possible to apply to a maximum of two universities.
The selection process for admission will be carried out by and is the sole responsibility of the individual universities.
Presenting fraudulent school certificates or university diplomas is a crime. All submitted documents will be carefully checked by experts. Should you present fraudulent documents, there will be serious consequences, including disqualification from this and other opportunities. UNHCR may also report the incident to the police authorities.
