WACSI Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) 2025

The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) is inviting applications for its fully funded Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) 2025. This six-month initiative, running from July to December 2025 in Accra, Ghana, aims to cultivate the next generation of West African civil society leaders by providing hands-on experience in key areas such as Capacity Development, Policy Influencing and Advocacy, and Knowledge Management.

🌍 Programme Overview

Since its inception in 2008, NGIP has been instrumental in equipping young West Africans with practical skills and knowledge to enhance their civic consciousness and professional capacities. Interns will be fully immersed in WACSI’s operations, contributing to various projects and initiatives that address critical development issues in the region.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens of Nigeria, Senegal, or Cape Verde.

  • Hold at least a first degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, law, development studies, or related fields.

  • Demonstrate a strong interest in civil society and non-profit organization management.

  • Exhibit proficiency in English, French, or Portuguese, with working knowledge of another language being advantageous.

💼 Internship Responsibilities

Interns will engage in:

  • Designing and implementing institutional assessment tools and training materials.

  • Participating in programme planning, proposal development, and cross-unit projects.

  • Providing administrative support, including budget monitoring and event organization.

  • Conducting research, writing reports, and producing briefings on ongoing programmes.

  • Assisting in policy meetings, workshops, and the development of advocacy tools.

Note: Interns are expected to complete the full six-month programme. Those unable to do so will be required to refund the total cost of the internship package to WACSI.
