The Women in Tech Zambia Accelerator Programme 2025, spearheaded by BongoHive Innovations, is a transformative initiative aimed at empowering female tech entrepreneurs in Zambia. This accelerator offers a comprehensive 3-month program that combines world-class training, strategic mentorship, and equity-free funding to help women-led, tech-based, and tech-enabled businesses scale sustainable solutions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

🕵🏻 Key Features of the Programme

  • Structured Training: Participants will engage in intensive sessions focusing on business strategy, growth, and operations.

  • Professional Mentorship: Access to seasoned entrepreneurs, investors, and industry specialists for personalized guidance.

  • Technical & Business Support: Comprehensive services including legal, financial, accounting, and digital support.

  • Milestone Development Plan: Utilization of Abaca, Village Capital’s online milestone tracking tool, to create personalized development plans.

  • Financial Analysis: One-on-one coaching with investment analysts to build robust financial models and narratives.

  • Networking Opportunities: Connections with investors, corporate partners, and peers to foster strategic partnerships.

  • Media Exposure: Increased visibility through media coverage and public events.

  • Equity-Free Grant: $10,000 awarded to five selected businesses to scale their solutions.

  • Market Expansion Support: Six months of targeted post-programme assistance to deepen market reach.

  • Alumni Community: Lifetime access to a vibrant network of women tech founders and BongoHive alumni for ongoing collaboration and support.

🧩 Thematic Challenge Areas

The programme focuses on five key areas where technology can drive significant impact:

  1. Health Technology: Innovations aimed at improving equitable access to healthcare services.

  2. Education Technology: Solutions that enhance educational access and quality, particularly in underserved communities.

  3. Financial Technology: Tools that promote financial inclusion and empower entrepreneurs.

  4. Artificial Intelligence & Emerging Technologies: Applications that address systemic barriers and create inclusive opportunities.

  5. Access Technology: Innovations designed to improve accessibility for persons with disabilities.

✅ Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the programme, applicants must:

  • Be a legally registered for-profit business with fewer than 10 employees, registered with PACRA for at least 3 months.

  • Be headquartered and operational in Zambia.

  • Be revenue-generating (under $100,000 annually) and have raised less than $500,000 in equity.

  • Possess a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with proven traction (users, partnerships, revenue, etc.).

  • Have at least one female founder with equal or majority ownership.

  • Ensure one full-time founder is based in Zambia and can participate in all programme activities from 23 June to 9 October 2025.

  • The founder should be between 18–35 years old.

  • The business must be tech-based or tech-enabled, addressing one of the thematic challenge areas.

  • Post Programme Support: 14 October 2025 – 27 February 2026
