Through interdisciplinary engagement, fellows will contribute to the formulation of accessible, evidence-based policy insights that inform decision-making at both local and global levels.

📚 Structure and Activities

The fellowship spans six months, requiring a commitment of 10–15 hours per week. Participants will engage in a blend of virtual sessions and an in-person residency at Mila in Montreal. Key components include:

  • Mentorship: Monthly meetings with a paired Mila AI Advisor for expert guidance.

  • Core Sessions: Workshops on public policy, AI deep dives, effective policy writing, knowledge dissemination strategies, and networking.

  • Deliverables:

    • A 6–8 page policy brief on a selected topic.

    • Organization of a policy roundtable or expert workshop targeting external stakeholders.

    • Participation in a Mila community event related to the fellow's research.

    • Development of a dissemination strategy for the policy brief and events.

    • A 10-page internal research report summarizing the process, methodology, collaborators, key references, and findings.
