Session III: July 19 – July 31
In each session, students choose one academic track among IST, PLE, or SGC.
The program includes:
Lectures by Yale faculty & invited speakers
Small seminars / breakout groups (faculty, Yale undergrad/grad students) with ~12:1 student:teacher ratio
Capstone Project: collaborative, session-long research or project work
Simulations / open-ended problem solving in interdisciplinary or global challenge settings
Social, cultural, and residential programming: discussion, extracurriculars, community building
Residential life & facilities
For 2026, YYGS will relocate students to Benjamin Franklin College and Pauli Murray College dormitories, both within walking distance of downtown New Haven.
These new dorms incorporate air chilling technology (a more sustainable cooling approach, not traditional air conditioning) to regulate indoor temperatures.
Students will dine, attend classes, live, and participate in program events on campus, interacting with peers from around the world.

📝 Tips & Best Practices for Applicants
Start early — give yourself ample time to polish essays, request recommendation forms, and complete the financial aid section.
Show passion & depth in your essays: YYGS evaluates holistically, so your motivation, background, perspective, and voice matter as much as grades.
Align your activities & track preference — choose a track you can confidently write about and show related interest.
Be clear and concise in short answers and fast takes — you’re limited by word/character counts.
Confirm your recommender's availability well in advance — they’ll need time to submit the form.
Plan for travel & visa logistics if you are international; secure adequate lead time.
Follow financial aid instructions thoroughly — missing components may disqualify your aid request.
Review the sample application to anticipate the structure and types of questions.
Be genuine — authenticity often stands out more effectively than over-polished profiles.
