👩🏻‍💻 Bursary Overview

Since 2002, the Bank of Namibia has been awarding bursaries to Namibian youth who, after completing matric (Grade 12), wish to pursue further studies but lack the financial means. This is part of the Bank’s broader commitment to investing in human capital and supporting national socio-economic development.

The bursaries are merit-based and aim to align with the Bank’s mission by supporting fields of study that help fill skills gaps in Namibia’s economy.

Insights 👌🏻

  • The bursary is undergraduate, meaning students will be enrolled in a full Bachelor’s degree program at a recognized institution in Namibia or in the SADC region.

  • Students already enrolled in tertiary institutions may apply too, provided they submit an academic progress report.

  • The Bank, through the selection process, may conduct shortlisting, means testing, interviews, and only then issue a conditional bursary offer.

  • The final bursary is contingent upon the applicant’s final Grade 12 results (if a school leaver) and proof of acceptance (or registration) in the relevant undergraduate program.
