📘MIS Scholarship Overview

The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is a strategic initiative to promote Malaysia as a center of academic excellence and to strengthen diplomatic ties. The program supports international students pursuing full-time postgraduate studies at any of the 20 public and 4 selected private universities across Malaysia.

Students can apply directly to the scholarship before securing university admission—making it even more accessible. English language test scores like IELTS or TOEFL are optional if your previous education was conducted in English.

  • Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)

✅ Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit:

    • ≤ 40 years for Master’s applicants

    • ≤ 45 years for PhD applicants

  • Academic Qualifications:

    • Master’s: Minimum CGPA 3.0 or Second Class Upper at Bachelor's level

    • PhD: Minimum CGPA 3.0 or excellent Master’s result in a relevant field

  • English Proficiency:

    • IELTS (Band 6.0+), TOEFL (PBT 550+), OR proof of English-medium previous degree

  • Nationality: Must be from eligible countries listed by MOHE

  • Research Proposal: Required for Master’s by Research and PhD applicants (min. 1,000 words)

  • Study Mode: Full-time only

📄 Application Procedure

Step-by-step Process:

  1. Visit the Official MIS Portal: MIS Application Portal

  2. Create an Account and Fill the Application Form

  3. Prepare and Upload the Required Documents in PDF:

    • Valid Passport (minimum 6 months validity)

    • Certified Academic Transcripts

    • English Language Proof (or exemption letter)

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

    • Two Recommendation Letters

    • Letter of Admission (if already admitted)

    • Research Proposal (for Research applicants)

    • Motivation Letter
