Migration Policy Institute (MPI) Europe in Brussels is seeking superlative candidates for two full-time, in-person internships in Brussels beginning in September offering a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical research and programmatic experience working with experts in a wide range of policy areas, including EU migration and asylum systems, labor migration, and immigrant integration. The internships, which will last six months, also offer the opportunity to collaborate directly with policy analysts and senior management. The successful candidates will be involved in the organization of events, which can help enrich their professional networks.
MPI Europe Research Internships - Duties
Providing support to the MPI Europe team, including senior management
Contributing to overall research efforts
Writing paper drafts and preparing literature summaries
Assisting in publications dissemination
Providing administrative support on events
Attending and summarizing relevant public and private events
Undertaking administrative tasks, including assistance to senior management
Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. May be currently enrolled in a master's or PhD program but should be available full-time throughout the internship
Demonstrated interest in the field of migration, asylum, or integration
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (English is used by staff)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to multitask.
Placement Details and Conditions
The five-day work schedule represents 38 hours per week, in office. There is the potential for telework twice a week, after two months. The internship location: Rue de la Loi, 155 – 1040 – Etterbeek.
The successful candidate will be offered a “convencion d’immersion professionnelle” (or “beroepsinlevingsovereenkomst”), which foresees a payment of 1310,15 euros per month. Lunch vouchers of 8 euros per work day that can be used in grocery stores and most restaurants will be offered. Relocation expenses are not covered.
