Fellows will be based at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, rotating through various hospitals with active paediatric surgical programs. ✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
Be qualified physician anaesthesiologists registered in their home country.
Be eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
Be supported by their national anaesthesiology society, which must be a WFSA member.
Have endorsement from their head of department or hospital management.
Commit to returning to a recognized post in their home country post-fellowship.
Preferably be working in a teaching hospital.
Be early-career professionals, though experienced anaesthesiologists may also apply.
📝 Application Procedure
WFSA Application:
Visit the WFSA online application platform.
Select Chapter ‘Fellowships’ and Category ‘Nairobi Paediatrics Fellowship 2025/2026’.
Submit the following documents:
Curriculum Vitae with a recent photo and names of two referees.
Letter of recommendation from the national anaesthesiology society.
Letter of recommendation from the head of department or hospital management.
Copies of medical degree and specialist anaesthesiology qualification.
Copy of the photograph page of the passport.
University of Nairobi Application:
Complete the online application on the University of Nairobi website.
Provide certified copies of:
Undergraduate medical degree and anaesthesia specialization.
Transcripts from undergraduate and anaesthesia degrees/fellowships.
High school certificates.
Verification of all degrees/transcripts not obtained in Kenya by the Kenya Commission for University Education.
Letter/certificate of good standing from the registering authority in the applicant's country.
Valid police clearance from the country of residence.
Evidence of Yellow fever and Hepatitis B vaccinations.
Official translations of all documents not in English.
